My husband, Chris, and I met on Spring Break in Key West our senior year of college. 4 years later we ran into each other while I was on vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the rest is history! We have a 2 year old who we call Lolly. She is her dad’s twin & her mom’s personality clone.

Charleston & Charleston! It’s hard to leave here… thus I convinced Chris to move here when we were dating vs. me relocating to Jackson Hole!
Quality basics with pops of trend!
Having a creative outlet in my life is way up on my list of must haves. Hearing from moms about their child’s individual style and helping them achieve the looks that they want is inspiring with every single box. The challenge of selecting pieces that I think will capture their interest and creating as many mix and match outfits within those selections is the best!
Anywhere that I am relaxing with my friends & family is a happy place. Whether it’s someone’s house on the weekend or a trip to the lake or beach, I just love being around the people that I love in a laid back atmosphere!
Find pieces that are going to have an element they can focus on, but the overall style is something you can live with. If they insist on only wearing clothes with cartoon graphics then use the great prints on a piece from Ice Cream Castles to appeal to them while you are getting them into a piece that’s a bit more polished!
Breakfast at our favorite deli, the playground to burn off some energy, and then some kind of home improvement DIY project (with a nap thrown in the mix….for mom too!) I am also an auction addict. If I am lucky enough to be child free for the day I could sit there all day learning about (& bidding on!) antiques.
I’ve been in the workforce for 13 years & had 3 jobs that have afforded me very different schedules. I’ve realized that “doing it all” is a very personal definition that is going to change as my family evolves. In my case, I’ve come to accept that I will never be able to complete everything in one day that I’d like to. I am always going to be chasing some ball that is dropping, or have a cluttered house, or still be in my yoga pants when dinner rolls around. At this point in my life; if my child is fulfilled, I am creatively & mentally fulfilled, and I am able to contribute to my family, then that’s more than enough for me.
Mac & Mia allows me to tick so many boxes that contribute to my feeling of fulfillment. I sold a business prior to coming to Mac & Mia & quickly realized that, for my own sanity, I needed to get back into the workforce in some capacity right away. That sense of fulfillment & creative outlet was something that I’d taken for granted. The team at Mac & Mia is the most supportive that I’ve ever come across. I work at my kitchen table most days, but am constantly in contact with this crew of moms who are doing the same thing all across the country. The flexibility to carve out my own hours to interact with my customers, while still being able to be home with my little girl, is invaluable to me. Getting to know my customers & their children in order to pack the best possible box for them is the best! I still can’t believe that this is my job.
